(97) Arguayo-Ermita Angel-Las Cabezadas Circular (Santiago del Teide)

Route Summary
Although not long, this route provides marvellous viewpoints on the initial ascent of twin-peaked La Hoya. After visiting a little ermita, the 2nd half of the walk ascends on old lava flows to the pines. The return is notable for the terraced tiers of former farm-land and “eras”.

(92) Ifonche-Fuente El Chorrillo Circular (Adeje)

Route Summary
A short but spectacular walk in the very rural and pine-forested Ifonche area. Taking a path under the cliffs on the edge of Barrancos del Infierno and Seco, the route passes through a botanically interesting environment, visits a number of caves and a verdant spring.

(89) Los Abrigos-Chiringuito Pirata Return (Granadilla)

Route Summary
A good there and back coastal walk taking in the pretty harbour at Los Abrigos and some inviting sandy beaches along the way. There are opportunities for a very pleasant break and refreshment at the mid-point, the Chiringuito Pirata beach bar.

(88) El Retamar-Degollada del Roque-El Molledo Circular (Santiago del Teide)

Route Summary
This is a moderate walk both in distance and overall ascent that provides satisfyingly different perspectives on the amazingly diverse scenery this area of the island has to offer. A very good introduction to walking in the Tamaimo area of the Santiago del Teide municipality.

(85) Mirador Narices del Teide-El Cedro Circular (National Park)

Route Summary
This short but energetic hike, ascending part-way up, and circling around, Montaña El Cedro on the rim of the Teide Caldera provides a range of interesting and special viewpoints to wonder at the natural beauty of the National Park.

(82) El Rio-Presa del Rio Circular (Arico)

Route Summary
The walk starts and ends in El Rio which enjoys a great vantage point over the east coast. The focal point of the walk is the “Presa del Rio”, an apparently unused dam in the scenic Barranco del Rio. The descent to the dam may not suit all walkers but an alternative is suggested.

(77) Valle de Arriba-Los Partidos Circular (Santiago del Teide)

Route Summary
This moderate walk climbs out of Valle de Arriba to go around the forested conical peak of Montaña Tomaseche. There is a pleasant and interesting potential stop-off at the Casa Rural of Los Partidos before the returning descent, overlooking the scenic vale of Santiago del Teide.

(73) Arguayo-La Hoya Circular (Santiago del Teide)

Route Summary
This 6.6 km walk, with 487 m overall ascent, circles the rocky mass of Montaña La Hoya, its comms masts providing a compelling landmark over the west coast, and its El Bicho tunnels providing a gateway to the north. Always, the views to every side are absolutely tremendous.

(70) Granadilla-Sobre La Fuente-Cruz de Tea Circular (Granadilla)

Route Summary
This is a varied walk in rural countryside and pine forest on the outskirts of Granadilla, but also taking in buildings of historical interest in the town, the hamlet of Sobre La Fuente, and Cruz de Tea area. The walk involves moderate effort, with an overall ascent of over 400 m.

(68) Las Manchas-Ermita San Angel-Mt Bilma Circular (Santiago del Teide)

Route Summary
The walk rises out of Las Manchas on old paths, soon passing a little Ermita at a prominent vantage point, before climbing up, alongside, and across the Chinyero lava fields that almost devastated the area in 1909. Great views are a feature of this walk on every step of the way.

(64) Ortíz-Pino Choya-Barranco La Puente Circular (Arico)

Route Summary
A short walk with a moderate overall ascent on mostly good paths in wonderful open country and pine forest. The barranco landscapes are very pleasing on the eye, and the final section in the Barranco La Puente has many interesting rock formations, making it popular with climbers.

(60) Parador-Sanatorio Return (National Park)

Route Summary
Mostly on rough roads, with easy ascents and descents, this return walk provides fascinating and often awe-inspiring landscapes in all directions. At the mid-point we visit the closed-up and intriguing El Sanatorio buildings hidden away in the middle of the National Park.
