Just a short note to let our subscribers and website users know that, after more than 2 years exploring Tenerife and documenting our self-guided walks there, we have returned to live in Scotland. That means there will be no new walks published on the “Tenerife Sur: under 10k” website until we return for holidays on the island.
We have a new self-guided walks website for Scotland, “The Mack Walks“, and will be publishing route guides there in the same way as we have been doing for Tenerife.
If you are interested, here is a link to the new website:
Route Summary Over a short distance there is a reasonably demanding overall ascent of almost 250 m that makes the route feel longer than it is. Wedged between two impressive barrancos, this hike above pretty El Jaral offers fine views in all aspects.
Route Summary Leaving the pretty village of Las Vegas this walk first follows the old Camino de Las Vegas, then a rough rural road to an old water mill. Crossing a hugely scenic barranco we encounter a partly ruined goat farm at El Seco where there are spectacular views of the Barranco del Rio, before a very pleasant return through open pines and terraces.
